PROJECTS NCSA Wind Tunnel

National Centre for Sports Aerodynamics (NCSA) – Wind Tunnel

A joint venture between the Australian and South Australian Governments was created to establish Adelaide as a global cycling hub with a new wind tunnel built adjacent to the SA Athletics Stadium. AEROLAB, a leading aerodynamics company, won the contract to design and construct the facility as part of an $8 million National Centre of Sports Aerodynamics.

This initiative by both federal and state governments aims to bolster the training capabilities of the Australian Cycling Team and South Australian Sports Institute programs.

The project

The Wind Tunnel will enhance athlete performance for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This project reflects a broader renewal effort for the SA Athletics, including upgrades funded by governments and the Australian Institute of Sport. These advances underscore Adelaide’s emergence as a premier destination for elite sports training and competition.
